Until recently, I saw jackfruit in a tin only in online stores. I am glad that you can now easily buy it  anywhere. It has an interesting texture and after proper seasoning it becomes a tasty addition to many dishes.


  • olive oil
  • 80 g of shallots
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 can of jackfruit
  • salt pepper
  • sweet pepper
  • hot pepper
  • smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 3 teaspoons of tomato paste
  • 1/4 lemon juice


  1. Pour olive oil into a frying pan.
  2. Add shallots and garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Tear the jackfruit into pieces and cut the hard parts with a knife. Add everything to the onion.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, sweet, hot and smoked paprika.
  5. Stir and fry for a while and add the soy sauce.
  6. Add tomato paste and mix.
  7. Sprinkle with lemon juice and fry for about 5 minutes.
  8. Spread  the mayo over your bread slices.
  9. Arrange lettuce, jackfruit and vegetables.
  10. Enjoy your meal !!!
