Until recently, I saw jackfruit in a tin only in online stores. I am glad that you can now easily buy it anywhere. It has an interesting texture and after proper seasoning it becomes a tasty addition to many dishes.
Ingredients:
- olive oil
- 80 g of shallots
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 can of jackfruit
- salt pepper
- sweet pepper
- hot pepper
- smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 3 teaspoons of tomato paste
- 1/4 lemon juice
- homemade sourdough bread
- tomato
- cucumber
- carrot
- lettuce
- parsley / cilantro
- vegan mayo
Instructions:
- Pour olive oil into a frying pan.
- Add shallots and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Tear the jackfruit into pieces and cut the hard parts with a knife. Add everything to the onion.
- Season with salt, pepper, sweet, hot and smoked paprika.
- Stir and fry for a while and add the soy sauce.
- Add tomato paste and mix.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice and fry for about 5 minutes.
- Spread the mayo over your bread slices.
- Arrange lettuce, jackfruit and vegetables.
- Enjoy your meal !!!
